Skee Ball in Augusta
Aqua Greens built a giant skee ball target for a Red Bull promotional charity event held during the Masters Week in Augusta, GA.
Mix together floating greens, Skee Ball, Red Bull, PGA Golfers, and Masters Week in Augusta. What do you get? Something you don’t hear every day – an incredible day on the water in Augusta. During the week of the Masters in Augusta, GA, Aqua Greens traveled down the East Coast and arrived on the shores of Lake Olmstead.
Over the span of a few days, they built a floating “launch pad” where PGA players – Rickie Fowler and Lexi Thompson – would carefully aim their shots toward a massive, skee ball shaped target. Together, along with reigning U.S. Amateur Champion Kelly Kraft, they aimed for several targets, increasing in points as they decreased in size. From about 165 yards away, they took 18 shots each, spanning over several rounds. Only Kraft was able to sink the infamous 1,000 point shot , but all of the players agreed it was a fun way to relieve some Masters-related stress: “It’s really just a fun kind of thing to kick off the week,” Fowler added. At the end of the day, Fowler totaled 500 points, while Thompson and Kraft managed to tie at 1,100 points. Red Bull donated $5,000 to the charities of their choice for their combined victory.
